Andy Warhol Exhibition Catalogue
Date: 1960s
Materials: Paper
The exhibition catalogue for Andy Warhol's first European museum show held at the Moderna Museet from February through March 1968. The catalogue was designed by Kasper König, who commissioned noted photographer Billy Name and a then-teenage Stephen Shore to document Warhol's life and work at The Factory on 231 East 47th Street. The resultant publication resembles an artist's book as much as an exhibition catalogue and is composed of reproductions of Warhol's most iconic works alongside snapshots of the Factory. The catalogue was widely influential, particularly on Japanese photography of the late 1960s and 1970s.
